As the media makes us all increasingly aware of the horrendous impacts the excessive use of disposable plastics is having - it makes somebody with a conscience who works in a company selling mainly plastic goods look at what they are doing very closely.

The negative view for some regarding the use of plastic guttering on our homes is that the materials go brittle, and need to be replaced much quicker than if an original cast iron gutter had been installed. 

However, when the plastic guttering is etched and coated with the cast iron effect - it becomes well protected from those weathers that can make it brittle. 

When we made our first cast iron effect gutter (**note made, not bought**) we put some on our home - a newly converted barn - in the most exposed area. This was well over 15 years ago, and the gutter looks and feels today exactly as it did the day it was fitted. So when we came to write this site, and sell the product nationwide, we were more than confident to offer our 10 year replacement guarantee, which we did. 

But now, this guarantee can easily be extended to a 20 year guarantee with the same terms - but the truth of the matter is - because this range is relatively new - we don't know how long it will still look perfect for. So all we can say is the minimum amount of time the product will last for.
